Wärtsilä inaugurated its new electrical & automation test center in Stord, Norway on 9 April. The new facility is one of the largest test centers in Europe dedicated specifically to electrical and automation systems for marine and offshore applications.
The facilities were inaugurated by Wärtsilä’s President & CEO Björn Rosengren together with Liv Kari Eskeland, the Mayor of Stord.
On the day of the inauguration, a customer conference was held to discuss sustainable shipping and offshore operations. Among the speakers was Tord Lien, Norway’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy, who in his speech gave his government’s perspective on future maritime and offshore operations.
