Chariot adds to Moroccan acreage

Chariot Oil & Gas Limited has been awarded 75% interest and operatorship of the Mohammedia Reconnaissance license offshore Morocco.

The Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines (ONHYM) will be its partner, holding 25% carried interest.

The license area is adjacent to Chariot's Loukos and Rabat Deep licenses, in the near shore, and it covers about 4600sq km in less than 500m water depth. The award remains subject to final approval from the relevant authorities.

Chariot has contracted Dolphin Geophysical to carry out a single 3D seismic program of about 1700sq km across all three of its Moroccan license areas, using the Sanco Swift vessel,  due to start early April 2014.

Instead of shooting two separate campaigns across the regions of interest, as previously announced, the survey will comprise about 1075sq km in Rabat Deep, about 250sq km in Loukos Offshore, and about 375sq km in Mohammedia Reconnaissance. The objective of the combined survey is to mature drillable prospects in the Mio-Pliocene and Jurassic plays.
