Boskalis wins Statoil jackups deal

Royal Boskalis Westminster subsidiary, Dockwise, said that it has won several contracts throughout January 2014, worth a total of US$65 million.

Statoil awarded the largest contract to the firm, for the transportation of two jackup rigs from South Korea to Norway. The Cat-J rigs are scheduled to be delivered between 2H 2016 and 2H 2017. Dockwise is deploying two if its largest heavy marine transport vessels, the Blue Marlin and the White Marlin to deliver the jackups.

The jackups will be used for drilling on the Gullfaks and Oseberg fields in the North Sea. The rigs will have the ability to operate at water depths from 70m – 150m, and drill wells to a depth of 10,000m. The rigs are specialized in operating in harsh environments for subsea and surface wells.
