The COSLGift, an independent leg cantilever jackup rig, has been delivered, and is enroute to Southeast Asia, China Oilfield Services Ltd. (COSL) announced.

COSL acquired the COSLGift and its sister rig COSLHunter (pictured) in August 2013. Both jackups are CJ46 models, designed by GustoMSC BV. They were constructed by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.

COSLGift is capable of operating at water depths of 375ft and can perform drilling operations at depths of up to a maximum of 30,000ft, with maximum persons count on board at 124 crew members and a variable load of 3500 tonnes. The jackup is expected to start working in January 2014, while its sister COSLHunter was towed to Gulf of Mexico in early December 2013 to begin a 5.5-yr contract with PEMEX.
