CNOOC duo in production

CNOOC Ltd started production at two of its offshore fields, the Wenchang 19-1 North and Weizhou 12-8 West.

The Wenchang 19-1 North oil field is located in the western Pearl River Mouth Basin with an average water depth of about 120-130m. The field has three producing wells and is expected to reach its peak production within the year, the company said.

CNOOC's Weizhou 12-8 West oil field is located in Beibu Gulf Basin in the southwest part of the South China Sea with an average water depth of about 34m. The field has five producing wells and is expected to reach its peak production within the year.

CNOOC operates the Wenchang 19-1 North oil field with 100% interest. The company operates the Weizhou 12-8 West oil field with 51% interest. Partners on Weizhou 12-8 include Roc Oil (China) Company, Horizon Oil (Beibu) Ltd and Oil Australia Pty Ltd.
