Mexico’s Cotemar group announced that Safe Regency has been awarded a contract extension and option through 31 March 2014, continuing at US$75,000/day.
The Safe Regency provides accommodation at Pemex's Cantarell field under a bareboat charter contract in the Gulf of Mexico.
The semisubmersible was built in 1982 at Keppel FELS yard in Singapore to a Pacesetter design. It has an eight-point thruster-assisted mooring system (TAMS) with four 2.4 MW azimuthing thrusters capable of maintaining position in harsh environments.
The Safe Regency offshore support vessel has 644 beds, 88 workstations, and large crane capacity, suitable for construction, commissioning, and remedial work.
Four other Prosafe semisubmersibles are currently under contract at Cantarell: Jasminia, Safe Hibernia, Safe Lancia, and Safe Britannia, all under bareboat charter contracts, according to Prosafe.
Prosafe is the world’s leading owner and operator of semisubmersible accommodation vessels. The company operates globally, employs 570 people, and is headquartered in Larnaca, Cyprus.
