Omega has entered into a seven-figure deal with Calgary-based well installation services provider Planet Services Inc., which will see its eight staff join the Omega team and become part of the Reservoir Group club.
Omega has developed a range of innovative well monitoring products and has traditionally outsourced the field installation service. This agreement will bring a dedicated service within the control and quality systems of Omega and thus complete the full permanent systems offering from design through manufacturing to system installation.
Fraser Louden, managing director of the Specialist Well Services division of Reservoir Group, commented that the business benefits and quality assurance of bringing the experienced and proven expertise of Planet Services to within the Omega organization was a logical progression of the excellent operating partnership developed between the two companies over the recent years.
“We are delighted to welcome Planet Services to the Omega organization and of course to the Reservoir Group,” said Louden.
Planet Services has supported Omega, becoming the principal installation provider covering installations in Canada, parts of the US and some international operations in China, Iraq, Nigeria and Tunisia.
Installation services are a critical component in the commissioning of an effective well monitoring solution, allowing permanent monitoring equipment to be incorporated into the drilling & completion programs to optimize the well results for operators.
