Pemex has granted Subsea 7's Mexican joint venture a $140 million contract for work in the Bay of Campeche, the company confirmed on 10 January 2013. The contract win is the joint venture’s first award.
“We look forward to delivering this key field development and in doing so further strengthening our relationship with Pemex,” said Ian Cobban, Subsea 7’s Vice President Gulf of Mexico.
Subsea 7 will provide engineering, fabrication and installation of a 16km pipe, two slug catchers and two cantilever structures for the Line 60 Project. Project management and engineering has begun out of Subsea 7’s Ciudad del Carmen and Houston facilities. Offshore operations are scheduled to commence Q1 2013. Pipelay will be handled by Subsea 7’s deepwater construction vessel Seven Borealis in Q3 2013.
