Subsea 7 wins Shell extension

Seven Atlantic

Shell Upstream International Europe has awarded Subsea 7 a two-year extension on both of its underwater services contracts worth approximately $360 million, Subsea 7 announced on 27 November 2012.

Under these contracts, Subsea 7 will continue to provide subsea construction, inspection, repair, maintenance and decommissioning services across Shell's European offshore fields and facilities.

"We are very pleased with the quality of support we have received over the last four years and look forward to the continued execution of a first-class service," said Glen Cayley, Shell Vice President Technical Europe.

Subsea 7 will dedicate both its Seven Atlantic and the Normand Subsea for Shell operations. The vessels will provide diving and ROV support services 24 hours a day in the North Sea.

The contract extension will commence in 2014 and continue until at least 2016 with the possibility of up to a further two year extension.
