CX-15 tower installation

Offshore engineering firm GMC Ltd. provides this video of the 2,500-ton CX-15 buoyant tower, touted at the world's largest, being installed at Corvina Field off Peru for BPZ Energy. The tower hull measures 69.9m with four, ring-stiffened connected cylindrical tubes including one central suction pile. Installed in October, the CX-15 supports a 1,500-ton, three-level topsides facility – designed by Audubon Engineering and GMC – and has a production capacity of 12,200 b/d and 12.8 MMcf/d of gas. BPZ Energy said it expects to drill its first well on the development within three to six weeks time.
