Seadrill has appointed Anton Dibowitz as the company’s new chief executive officer effective 1 July 2017. Dibowitz will succeed Per Wullf who will remain a director of the company.
Dibowitz, currently chief commercial officer and executive vice president, will take the reigns as CEO on 1 July 2017 following a succession planning process that was implemented during 2016. Wullf will continue as CEO until the end of June.
Dibowitz joined Seadrill in 2007, has led the commercial function within Seadrill since 2010 and was appointed executive vice president in June 2016 with the responsibility for day-to-day business administration of the company.
Dibowitz has 20 years' experience in the drilling industry. Prior to Seadrill, Dibowitz held positions within tax, process reengineering and marketing at Transocean and Ernst & Young LLP. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he holds Masters degrees in professional accounting (MPA) and business administration (MBA).
