Saudi Aramco president and CEO Khalid Al-Falih has committed to opening a new technology center on Houston's northside, Houston Mayor Annise Parker announced on 11 November 2012.
A press release put out by the mayor's office said the arrangement will bring 100 new jobs to the city, mostly scientist positions.
Parker is part of a 38-member delegation taking part in an eight-day Middle East trade mission.
"This proves the value of the face-to-face contact that occurs as a result of these trade missions," Parker said.
Saudi Aramco also announced that the company's April 2013 board meeting would take place in Houston.
"Saudi Aramco senior executives now feel more welcome at Houston's [Bush Intercontinental Airport] than at any other airport in the United State," Al-Falih said.
After visiting Saudi Arabia, the Houston delegation will head to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
