The Fugro Pioneer is a compact, survey ship capable of undertaking a wide range of survey, monitoring and inspection operations. The Fugro Pioneer is the second vessel to be built directly by Damen for Fugro.

The vessel is designed for a variety of survey and inspections duties including light geotechnical work, environmental baseline surveys, monitoring and inspection, and moon pool deployments. Diesel electric propulsion delivers economy at all speeds.

Fugro took delivery of the newbuild Fugro Proteus from Damen Shipyards, the first of three Fugro offshore coastal survey vessels scheduled for delivery in 2014, both companies announced on 4 July 2014.

Each of the three new FOCSVs will be operating in different global regions and have been specifically adapted for the individual environments in which they will work.
