The finalists for the annual Subsea Awards have been revealed with a mix of small start-ups and large, multi-nationals in contention for recognition during Subsea Expo.
The winners will be announced at the gala dinner on Wednesday, February 5, the first day of Subsea Expo, held in Aberdeen.
About 5000 delegates from across the globe are expected to attend the event, which includes a conference and exhibition, at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, with more than 850 booked for the dinner.
Nominees in the Global Exports Award category are Subsea Innovation, ROVOP and Expro Group.
Over 180 subsea companies are exhibiting their products and services during Subsea Expo.
The event features a packed programme with high profile industry speakers delivering leadership messages at the plenary session and technology showcases covering subjects such as fields of the future, integrity management, deepwater construction, ROV/survey and production and flow assurance.
Organisers, Subsea UK, are confident that the awards dinner, now a major part of Subsea Expo, will be one of the best ever and that the exhibition and conference will be the biggest in the event’s history.
Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “The calibre and number of entries demonstrates the strength of the subsea sector in the UK. Many of the most respected and innovative companies in the industry are featured, along with new, innovative start-ups.
“As Subsea UK enters its 10th year, we are looking to increase our connectivity with global subsea hubs to ensure we promote British subsea capabilities far and wide, identifying opportunities for our members and help them further their global reach. The awards seek to remind us just how impressive British innovation and know-how is.
“Our flagship event, now re-branded as Subsea Expo, has grown from a small gathering of 200 people to a globally recognised, ‘must-attend’ event for anyone and everyone in subsea around the world.”
For the first time, the event will extend to three days (5-7 February) with the final day offering an opportunity to engage with the next generation of subsea engineers, project managers and technicians.
